Lockport Locks District Tours

This season, the Locks Heritage District is offering the 2019 Reconstruction Tour–Unlocking an Engineering Marvel!
This tour takes you back to the men and the engineering feats that designed and built the Erie Canal that opened in 1825.
And then there is the opportunity to try your hand as a Locktender! Be part of a team that opens and closes the replica 5 ton lock gates.
Tours are available each Saturday from 11 – 1pm through September 28th. This walking tour lasts ~45 minutes and covers 1/2 mile. The final tour departs at 12:30.
No reservations are needed, walk ups are welcome. Please call ahead to arrange for a group of 10 or more.
