Save the Date! Buffalo Jazz Collective & Alex McArthur will perform at Kenan Center on February 28th from 7pm to 9pm. This world-class collaboration of talents will perform inside the beautiful and intimate Taylor Theatre.
Alex McArthur is a dynamic jazz vocalist who uses her passion for creativity, storytelling, & authentic expression as her musical compass. Utilizing her naturally warm, soulful tone that spans multiple octaves, Alex has regularly performed across the Buffalo region over the last ten years.
The Buffalo Jazz Collective is a group of jazz musicians and advocates dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and advancing the rich jazz heritage of Western New York. Through performance, education, and media, they pay tribute to Buffalo’s musical past and nurture its future by ensuring jazz remains at the core of our cultural landscape.
Billie Holiday and Lester Young had one of the great collaborations in Jazz history. Their soulful interpretations of the Great American Songbook exemplify the best of Jazz during its popular heydey of the World War II era. For this concert The Buffalo Jazz Collective featuring vocalist Alex McArthur will present some of the exact arrangements that characterize this incredible period of Jazz music including “Night and Day”, “Easy Living”, “All of Me” and “The Very Thought of You”.
