The Niagara County Family Opportunity Center
The Niagara County Family Opportunity Center is a place for all Niagara County families to spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment. Their goal is to strengthen and support the family unit by offering a variety of free services and bonding opportunities. They provide daily open play, monthly family fun nights, and evidence-based parenting classes/workshops.
Located at 175 Walnut St., Suite 5 in the city of Lockport, their Summer hours of operations are as follows:
Monday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Friday: CLOSED - NO OPEN PLAY
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (PLAY TIME SIGN UP REQUIRED FOR SATURDAY OPEN PLAY, MESSAGE US ON FACEBOOK TO RESERVE A PLAY TIME!)
The center also has a Family Partner whose role is to link caregivers and children to community resources based on their individual needs. With completion of their virtual Positive Parenting Program, their Family Partner can also offer financial assistance to caregivers on a case-by-case basis and as funding allows. This assistance can cover a variety of family needs, including sports enrollment fees, clothing, food, and past due bills.
